I Finally Posted on TikTok - Here’s How Awkward It Was

Hey - come here for a sec, I’ve got something to tell you.

Nope, it’s not about money. Oh, I know.

Next Saturday, okay?

But listen, I have to tell you this because it’s a pretty big thing for me.

It’s about… TikTok.

Yeah. I know. I never thought I’d say that either - it feels weird even typing it.

I’ve started posting videos on TikTok.

Yep, you heard me. When I say "videos," I mean…two.

And I’m not gonna lie - it was pretty damn painful.

I don’t know if it’s a generational thing, a confidence thing, or just a me thing - but I really don’t enjoy being on camera. I’m not used to it. Talking to my phone like it’s a real person? So awkward. Watching it back? Oh god, no. Nooooooo.

But I keep reminding myself why I’m doing it.

To get a message across.

To try and help people.

Yeah, I know - it sounds a bit cliché. But it’s true, okay?

And if I don’t keep telling myself that, I’ll probably be about 80 before I finally post a video.

But anyway, the thing is - I actually did it.

I recorded something.

Yeah, it’s in a dimly lit room with terrible lighting. And yes, I'm still in my gym clothes.

But I did it.

Look, I’ve posted videos here before - last year, I think. And on Instagram, when my friend was handling my socials for me. She was pretty good at it, too. She got me in front of the camera and helped me stop getting in my own way.

But that’s different.

When someone else records and posts, you don’t have to overthink it. They just do it - whether you like it or not.

The plan now is to post twice a week here and twice a week on TikTok. I think I can manage that. I’m hoping the more I do it, the less weird it’ll feel - because right now it still feels totally alien, like, I honestly have no clue what I’m doing.

So yeah… not the most useful update, I know. But I never thought I’d actually do it.

This time, it’s me. And the whole point is to share more with you - in quick, simple, real ways. To talk about money without the scary or complicated stuff. To help you figure out what you actually want from life. You remember that life, right? The one you’ve kind of buried under a mountain of expectations… beneath everyone else’s needs.

Yeah. That one.

We’re going to dig it back up. And we’re going to use money - not fear, not guilt, not pressure - to get you there.

So even if it’s just a tiny little corner of TikTok - a small, quirky community - I’m all in. And honestly, I love weird, so I’ll totally take that.

I know I’m throwing out clichés left and right here… but even if I help just one person, that’s something, right?

And hey, maybe you can help me too. Because, as you’ve probably guessed by now… I’m definitely still figuring things out. I mean, who isn’t? Maybe we can help each other along the way.

So if you’re on TikTok and want to connect, I’ll see you over there. 🩷

And honestly - thanks for reading this. It’s pretty cool that you’re here.

And hey, next time I tell you to shout something into the void…

You can actually shout it at my TikTok.

Unless you’re American.

Then yeah… you’re still shouting into the void. 🩷

But hey, I still hear you…

Okay, maybe I won’t. But who knows - maybe I’ll get back on Instagram one day...
